This event is designed for everyone whether they have never sung before or have years of experience.
Stephen Williams, who will lead the singing, said: ‘We’re really keen that even the people who have only sung in the shower should be able to have a great time; but we’d also love to have experienced singers who are looking to improve their vocal production! The well-being benefits of singing together are well-known and meeting new singing friends in this outstandingly beautiful church can only be good.’
After some fun vocal warm-ups participants will sing some Scottish Traditional Songs. The singers will be accompanied by Miriam Harden (piano) and talented young instrumentalists from the area.
The songs will include Westering Home, Wild Mountain Thyme and My Love is Like a Red, Red Rose.
Stephen Williams lives in Taynuilt and was Chorusmaster of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra Chorus, a backing singer for Take That and has taught singing at Universities and Schools for many years.
The Friends of St Conan’s Kirk will provide some excellent baking during the tea break. There is no need to book. Just turn up on the day, or send an email to enquiries@stconanskirk.org.uk
