Great News for the Gardens

Regular visitors to the Kirk will have seen the major changes in the gardens, with new garden areas, seating, paths and the clearance of Rhododendrons and more. Many of these improvements have involved local schools participating in the gardening or willing volunteers.

At the end of October we received great news that the Baillie Gifford Community Awards Programme has awarded the Friends of St Conan’s Kirk £2,000 to continue to develop and improve the gardens for all visitors. Our plans include more plants with local children helping us with the planting, working with local tradesmen and volunteers installing additional paths to improve access or allow access to areas such oak woodlands. We also plan to introduce some simple signage and information.

If you would like to get involved please contact us as there are many areas of the gardens where volunteers can make a vital contribution.

Many thanks to Baillie Gifford for their support. Their help will allow us to build upon the improvements made in 2018 with financial support from Tesco Bags for Life.
