Project Officer

Part Time Role Hybrid blend of office (Lochawe) and home working
£30,500 pro-rata Closing 26th October 2023

Role

Heritage buildings throughout Scotland are redefining their roles at the centre of their communities and St.Conan’s Kirk in the Argyll and Bute village of Lochawe is intent on developing its position as a community asset focused on education and wellbeing.

Currently attracting over 50,000 visitors annually our first phase of funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund is to develop the community and engagement programme. We need a values led project officer to run community and engagement events and inform our longer term events and activity programme.

You will work alongside the volunteer led charity Friends of St.Conan’s Kirk (registered SCIO, SC045006) as well as the Architects who will be working on the delivery of a series of construction led improvements to the fabric of the building. Your job is to help make sure the improvements to the building enhance the flexibility and range of our community and engagement programmes.

The post will be a hybrid blend of office based (in Lochawe) and home-based work.

We are looking for the following key skills:-

  • Project management
  • Community engagement and event planning
  • Business and financial planning
  • Experience in managing volunteers and contractors.

Experience of working on National Lottery Lottery Funded projects or similar would be an advantage as would experience in the cultural or heritage sectors.

As this is a first paid post for the Friends of St.Conan’s Kirk you will benefit from being employed through a framework managed by the Argyll and Bute Third Sector Interface (ABTSI). Alternatively, you could choose to become a contractor as a sole trader or through your limited partnership company.
