Schools Programme

The Friends of Saint Conan’s Kirk will work with the local education authority to establish a Schools Programme aimed at engaging young people and enhancing learning and understanding in a range of areas. This will draw on the many aspects of St. Conan’s related to heritage and culture. These aspects could be as diverse as history of the local community and production of stained glass.

We already work with local schools including:

  • Local schools St Conan’s Cup for art.
  • A number of schools submit a tree to the annual Christmas Tree festival.
  • We are working on a children’s garden with input from local families and schools.
  • A careers day is planned for the local High School and College in September 2019.

We are happy to host school, college or interested groups and are happy to tailor tours and learning days to the particular needs and interests of the group. Please contact us.

St Conan’s Cup for Art. Our annual competition for local schools. All entries are exhibited in the Kirk for 2 months. Each year has a theme, previous themes have included “Arches” and “Windows”
