Storytelling at St Conan’s
During 2021 and 2022 we have been able to bring storytelling to St Conan’s Kirk. With support with a grant from Susan H Guy Charitable Foundation we have offered a range of events for a wide range of ages. In Autumn 2023 we hosted “Across the Water: Story and Song from Erin to Alba”.
An afternoon of stories and songs delving into the mysteries of the waters between
Northern Ireland and the West Coast of Scotland. Colin Urwin, a singer, writer and
storyteller from the Glens of Antrim, and Heather Yule, Scottish storyteller and harpist,
came together to share dramatic songs and tales of shipwrecks, selkies and other strange
creatures and events.
With the Kirk offering a special venue for storytelling and new links to Scottish and international Storytellers as well as the amazing team at TRACS we aim to build on recent performances. Keep your eyes open for future events.
