Vital Roof Repairs move One Step Closer

In June 2018 the National Lottery Heritage Lottery Fund and Historic Environment Scotland award St Conan’s Kirk £100,000 towards the Phase 2 Repair Program. With an overall project cost of £133,500 we had to raise the balance of the costs. We applied to a number of charitable Trusts are incredibly grateful that a number of trusts have supported this important project to safeguard the future of the Kirk. We would like to thank the following supporters for their important help.

The Baird Trust
The All Churches Trust
Scotland’s Churches Trust
Jill Franklin Trust

We have managed to progress through the important steps of obtaining three quotes for the proposed roof repairs and are in the final process of obtaining permission for the Heritage Lottery Fund to proceed with the repairs. With funds now in place thanks to the support of the organisations above work is due to commence on repairs to areas of damaged flat roofs and leaking gutters in June 2019. The second major part of the works to repair Lime Pointing is due to start in August 2019. The final works on repairs to downpipes should take place in the Autumn.
